Drum Cussac announces strategic alliance with Dryad Maritime Intelligence Service.
Specialist new services to counter the growing threats of Piracy and Maritime Terrorism
Drum Cussac Maritime (DCM), a division of the global business risk consultancy Drum Cussac - headquartered in the UK and with offices on six continents - announced today a strategic alliance with Dryad Maritime Intelligence Service, a new UK based company staffed by former Royal Navy Officers.
Drum Cussac has already developed a wide range of leading security products for the maritime market, particularly for super-yachts, commercial shipping, offshore installations and ports. In consultation with experts from the Centre for the Study of Terrorism at St Andrew’s University, Dryad has produced an IT system that monitors the underlying factors that facilitate piratical or terrorist attack and provides expert advice on their mitigation. Dryad also provides clients direct telephone contact to one of its highly trained and experienced former RN Principal Warfare Officers, 24/7. This combination of expertise will greatly enhance Drum Cussac’s existing ‘Pharos’ Maritime Intelligence product, making it unparalleled in the market place. ‘Pharos’ provides marine professionals the tools and resources to conduct safe, secure maritime operations around the world, helping companies comply with current and emerging global security initiatives. Dryad will provide the backbone of the intelligence, analysis and academic research for ‘Pharos’. DCM will provide the web based educational and awareness resources, port specific data, advice, training, and practical solutions such as the provision onboard of qualified Ship Security Officers, Kidnap for Ransom training and response and integrated access to the DCM 24/7 marine operations centre.
Jeremy Stampa Orwin CPP, from Drum Cussac said: “Our strategic alliance is a logical step in developing a truly world leading risk consultancy. It will add an invaluable refinement to our well established maritime security model, which is based around the core ISPS code requirements”. Graeme Gibbon Brooks, Managing Director at Dryad, said of the alliance, “Drum Cussac is extremely well-respected in the risk management industry worldwide, recognised for their expertise and innovative approach to delivering security improvements to marine operations. Dryad already delivers maritime intelligence services to several vessel owners and operators. Collectively, we offer an astounding security product with truly global reach”
