Port Advisory Services
The requirements of the ISPS Code are complex and far-reaching. Ports and port facilities must base their compliance on the latest interpretations of the Code. We routinely communicate with the industry's decision makers and are therefore able to provide advice based on the most up-to-date and relevant information. Because no two ports or port facilities are the same, Drum Cussac will work with you to develop the most efficient and cost-effective range of advisory services suited to your organisation.
Gap Analysis Port and port facilities can be very complex. We can provide a Gap Analysis - a detailed report of the requirements necessary to gain compliance with the ISPS Code, describing training required for port facility security officers (PFSOs) and others, how to develop PFSAs (if applicable), and PFSPs for approval by contracting governments. It will provide the port or port facility with all the information needed to produce an invitation to tender. These services will be based on one of the following levels of assistance, depending on your specific needs.
Assistance level 1
Based on Drum Cussac training for your security staff, you carry out the port facility security assessments (PFSAs) and develop the port facility security plan (PFSP) required for each port facility. We will then review and comment on the PFSAs and PFSP prior to submission to the contracting government.
Assistance level 2
The Drum Cussac Inc will advise you on the development of the security policies and procedures required. We will develop a generic PFSA template containing a provisional list of potential threat scenarios for each type of port facility at the port. Your staff, under our guidance, will be able to complete a PFSA for each remaining facility. Our security experts will advise and teach the PFSO how to undertake the port facility on-scene security survey. Based on generic PFSAs, and using expert security knowledge, we will develop PFSP templates. Your staff can then use these to develop the other PFSPs for the remaining port facilities within the port.
Assistance level 3
We will carry out the PFSA, and on scene security survey and develop the PFSP for each port facility at the port.
In-house training
Implicit in the Code, though not specifically required, is the need for security management training. Drum Cussac provides approved training courses for PFSOs, port staff and the company management team. This training is available worldwide at times and locations of your choice.
