We provide a tiered Competent Authority Service (CAS) for ship owners, operators and managers who are required to employ a Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) on board their vessels, in compliance with SOLAS Chapter XI-2/6.

IMO and U.S. Coast Guard regulations require that the SSAS must be capable of transmitting an alarm signal ship-to-shore and be received by a competent authority, which may be the company or a service provider who meets Flag State requirements.

Upon receipt of a security alert from your vessel our control room performs the following:

• Confirm the authenticity of the alert
• Inform the nominated client representative, normally the CSO
• Timely dissemination of verified alert notices to companies, Flag Administrations, Coastal States and Contracting Governments
• Take necessary action on behalf of and as directed by the CSO
